Guy Medals
William Augustus Guy (1810–1885) was a British physician and medical statistician who helped champion the use of data and probability in medicine and public health. He was professor of forensic medicine at King’s College London and played a leading role in the Royal Statistical Society, serving as editor of its journal and later as president.
Named in his honour, the Guy Medals in Gold, Silver and Bronze recognise outstanding contributions to statistics.
A lifetime award given to a fellow of the Society for making outstanding and innovative contributions to statistics.
Awarded to an individual who has made an important contribution to statistics through high-quality work published in RSS journals.
Recognises an individual who has published outstanding work in any of the RSS Journals.
