1:10: Becoming A Professional Statistician - Regina Verghis

My journey with the Royal Statistical Society started in 2010 and has been an integral part of professional journey. I became an e-student when I was a full-time student for my PhD and re-validated as a Chartered Statistician when I was back in the work force. I completed my post-graduation in India. RSS provided a much needed framework which I could focus while I worked towards becoming and independent professional statistician. I had a mentor who I could contact when required help and advice.

1:25: Getting Involved with the Young Statisticians Section - Dr Craig Anderson

The Young Statisticians Section (YSS) is a section of the RSS which exists to support young statisticians during the first 10 years of their career. The YSS organise lots of careers and networking events as well as organising many sessions during the RSS Conference. I have been a member of the YSS committee for three years in various roles. My talk will outline my experiences with the YSS and outline the many ways you can get involved with the YSS.
