The decennial census is a vital piece of information that informs policy and our understanding of society.  During the design stages of the census, there has been much discussion around the collection of responses on sex, gender or both. This meeting will briefly outline why these questions are sensitive, and demonstrate that there is a need to consider data ethics right at the start of any data related activity.
