2/2 The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on data collection for social surveys: Challenges and opportunities

When the pandemic and subsequent lockdown arrived early this year, survey organisations that relied heavily on face to face interviewing had to move quickly to adapt. For some surveys, plans were already in place for a move to other modes and circumstances gave an added impetus to make these changes. Other surveys had to make changes from scratch. This is the second of two seminars looking at how organisations made these adaptations. In this one, there are presentations from ONS, The UK Household Longitudinal Study, and the Crime Survey for England and Wales. The first seminar (covering the British Election Study and NatCen qualitative and quantitative work) is on the 17th November and has already been advertised.

The seminar will be preceded at 12.20 by the AGM of the RSS Social Statistics Section
 
There will be three presentations listed below - each approximately 20 minutes long with the opportunity for questions
