With 2024 coming to an end, we have published our
Annual Review, detailing our activities, achievements and the progress made towards our strategic goals.
We have made strides towards bolstering membership, supporting and responding to public policy, publishing a new journal and increasing the circulation of our existing publications. We have also increased conference attendance whilst creating more events and public courses, all alongside publishing our new five-year strategy and preparing for the imminent move from our London office.
Volunteers from our membership have contributed greatly to the success of this year. With a new task force focusing on AI, as well as with input from our advisory groups, sections and local groups, we have proved a strong voice in advocating for the place of properly used statistics in many aspects of life. We have also made strides towards our goal of supporting a strong and diverse profession, with the success of our first Future Leaders cohort, the start of the RSS Celebrating Diversity special interest group and the continuing work of our EDI committee. By volunteering for mentorship roles, supporting third sector organisations and offering expertise to calls for evidence and surveys, our membership have helped society at large make better use of its data.
We would like to thank all those who have helped make 2024 such an impactful year for the Society, especially President Andrew Garrett, who will end his term at the end of December.
