We’ve partnered with the UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) to launch the first UK Statistics Assembly. The Assembly will bring together statistics users, producers and regulators to identify potential data gaps within the UK statistical landscape so that wider user needs can be better addressed.
The assembly has been established following a recommendation made in the independent review of UKSA, led by former RSS president Professor Denise Lievesley. We published
our response to the review earlier this year, welcoming the assembly and the important role it will play in helping UKSA to balance wider user needs with those of government. UKSA published
its formal response last week.
We’re pleased to be involved in bringing together a diverse range of voices and views from business, industry, academia, charities, civil society and media as well as central, local and devolved governments, for discussion on the UK’s statistical priorities.
The first assembly event will take place on Wednesday 22 January in London, and you will also be able to take part virtually. A report with insights from the assembly will then be published highlighting priorities and data gaps that were discussed and how system priorities could be influenced by these.
You are also invited to share your contributions ahead of the event which will help shape the event’s agenda, along with examples of existing work done to identify statistical priorities by 3 November 2024 date.
Register to attend the event in London.
Complete the call for contributions by 3 November 2024.
