New joint editors for Series A and B

New joint editors have been appointed for our Series A and B Journals as follows:

New joint editor for JRSS-A: Professor Michael R ElliottMichael Elliot
Michael Elliott is a professor of biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and Research and at the Institute for Social Research. Professor Elliott's statistical research interests focus around the broad topic of 'missing data', including the design and analysis of sample surveys, causal and counterfactual inference, and latent variable models.

Professor Elliott has worked closely with collaborators in injury research, pediatrics, women's health, the social determinants of physical and mental health, and smoking cessation research. He has served as an associate editor for JRSS-C, the Journal of the American Statistical Association and the Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology.

New joint editor for JRSS-B: Professor Daniela WittenDaniela Witten
Daniela Witten is a professor of statistics and biostatistics at University of Washington, and the Dorothy Gilford Endowed Chair in Mathematical Statistics. Her research involves the development of statistical machine learning methods for high-dimensional data, with applications to genomics, neuroscience, and other fields. She is particularly interested in unsupervised learning, with a focus on graphical modeling.

Professor Witten is the recipient of several honours including an NIH Director's Early Independence Award, a Sloan Research Fellowship, an NSF CAREER Award, a Simons Investigator Award in Mathematical Modeling of Living Systems, a David Byar Award, a Gertrude Cox Scholarship, and an NDSEG Research Fellowship.

She is a co-author (with Gareth James, Trevor Hastie, and Rob Tibshirani) of the very popular textbook 'Introduction to Statistical Learning'. She was a member of the National Academy of Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine) committee that released the report 'Evolution of Translational Omics'.
