The RSS is now accepting applications from its members for the Advanced Data Science Professional (ADSP) certification. This new certificate is part of the work of the Alliance for Data Science Professionals.
The Alliance was set up in 2021 by the RSS, along with other learned societies to define the professional standards needed for data science to ensure an ethical and well-governed approach across the industry. Those who apply for the certification will need to show sustained commitment to these standards around data stewardship and data collection as well as other key skill areas.
Chaired by RSS VP for professional affairs, Prof Rachel Hilliam, the Alliance awarded its
first cohort of data scientists with the ADSP certificate in July this year.
The certificate is awarded to experienced data scientists with at least five years’ work experience within a statistical role. All certified individuals will be included on a single searchable public register, hosted on the Alliance website.
