RSS celebrates the work of its fellows for Volunteers' Week 2018

The Royal Statistical Society will mark this year’s celebration of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June 2018) by sharing our volunteers’ experiences of the work they are doing for the Society.

Volunteers’ Week is the annual celebration of volunteers and the contributions they make to organisations and communities across the UK.

Each day of Volunteers’ Week, a guest volunteer will tell us what volunteering at the Society means to them. We hope you enjoy the articles and participate by sharing them on social media with the #rssvolunteers and #volunteersweek hashtags.

RSS President David Spiegelhalter said: 'On behalf of the RSS, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who offers their time and expertise to support our work. More than 10% of our members volunteer with us and it is important that we recognise the value that they bring to the Society. From engaging with the statistical community to influencing policy, our volunteers give oversight to the work we do.

'We appreciate their contributions which bring us closer to our vision of a world where data are at the heart of understanding and decision making.'
