Re-election of the 2023-24 President
Following the withdrawal of the President Elect, the President Nominating Committee (PNC) will reconvene to find a new nominee, as set out in the RSS Regulations.
Council has agreed the following timeline for the process:
22 April
The RSS invites members and Council to propose new presidential nominees, over a six-week period. We particularly welcome nominations for candidates who are under-represented among past presidents.
More guidance on the nomination process can be found here. You can email your nomination to Stian Westlake before the deadline of 6 June.
6 June
After the deadline for nominations, PNC begins its selection process, with the aim of making a recommendation to Council.
1 August
Council meets to consider PNC’s recommendation.
5 September
Council confirms its nomination; there will be a six-week period during which members can propose an alternative candidate.
18 October
If no alternative candidates are proposed, the recommended nominee is declared elected.
1 January 2023
The new President’s term of office starts.
