You can now register for the next four events in the ONS Bringing data to life series. From January, they will be exploring statistical topics on artificial intelligence and innovation, crime, well-being, and statistical misuse.

In collaboration with speakers across the GSS and public sector, these popular sessions provide a beginner-level understanding of how official statistics are created and used, from gathering the data to releasing the figures that make a difference.

The next event takes place on 21 January 2025 at 4pm: ‘Artificial intelligence and innovation: keeping humans in the loop’. The ONS will explore how they’re piloting the use of generative AI and large language models to produce statistics. They’ll also explore how NHS England are using AI in early screenings to detect cancer and improve lives through innovation.

Visit the ONS website to watch the recordings or see the slides of the previous events, which provided an introduction to statistics, and a beginner-level overview of environment, prices, and health statistics.
