The 1-hour session brings together three women from different sectors in statistics and data science: academia, industry, and government, to discuss their insights and experiences with the Work-Family balance. The session is structured as a panel discussion with pre-planned questions. The attendees are encouraged to ask further questions.
Although the focus of the session will be on female professionals with family caring duties, we believe that others will benefit by learning how these professionals overcame challenges, progressed their career and supported their family members and loved ones.
In celebration of International Women’s Day (8 March 2025), the Young Statisticians Section (YSS) and the Celebrating Diversity SIG of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) are hosting a panel discussion on work-family balance for women in statistics and data science. The panel discussion will cover maternity leave, career progression, mental health, managing various responsibilities (childcare, household and others on top of careers) and practical strategies for integrating both roles.
