Talk in the RSSNI Seminar Series

Talk on Wednesday April 17th at 1pm BST - On the importance of RCTs

Dear Fellows,

RSSNI is very pleased to have Cliona McDowell from the Northern Ireland Clinical Trials Unit speak to us on the importance of randomised controlled trials and the types of trials  being undertaken in the Unit. This is a hybrid event being held online using Teams (link) and in QUB (Room  017, on the 2nd floor of the Peter Froggatt Centre, main quadrangle). This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the nuts and bolts and value of RCTs from someone working in the real world of clinical trials.

Title:  The importance of Randomised Controlled Trials and the Northern Ireland Clinical Trials Unit

Abstract:  The talk will touch on the importance of RCTs and the current NICTU portfolio. It will describe what we do in the NICTU, the types of trials we take on, the funding streams and the clinical trial pathway. It will also describe the expertise in the NICTU with a specific focus on Statistics.

All welcome!
