This series of webinars will aim to provide a 'User Perspective' on access to data and user engagement as a follow up to the webinar on Improving User Access to Health and Care Statistics that was held on 21st June.
The overall aim of the two webinars will be to present current user engagement initiatives in relation to health and care statistics, from both the user and the provider perspectives.
As we recover and rebuild our nations, we have an opportunity to "reset" our services, products and collaborations to ensure we design and build inclusive, equitable and diverse outputs which support improved outcomes for citizens and communities. In building back fairer services, users should be at the heart of all we do. In order to do this, we need to ensure that user engagement activities are inclusive and complementary, and that we are able to interpret and share the different views that may be gathered during these activities.
How can we do it better?
- AnalystX community - : Rachel McIlroy, NHS England
Introduction to the AnalystX community, how it works, and how it is (or could be), involved in user engagement, including:
- using their website as a "front end" to other user engagement material and discussions, such as the material that is posted on RSS and HSUG websites
- using their technique based "huddle" approach for detailed discussions and feedback on specific topics.
- Feedback on Review of birth, child and infant mortality outputs - Hannah McConnell, ONS
This Review was mentioned at the June webinar, and so this presentation will review progress so far with this. This will focus on the approaches that were taken to engaging users in this review - not discussing the content of the review.
- User Engagement Strategy – Tegwen Green, ONS
Update on the work of the User Engagement hub and what had been done so far to engage with users – with feedback from the user community on these initiatives. This will include presenting approaches that complement the existing activities and facilitate the involvement of a wider group of users.
- Next Steps
The final Q&A session of this webinar will discuss next steps, and the way forward.
