To celebrate the Euro 2020 football tournament (played in 2021), the RSS Statistics in Sport Section ran an open competition to predict the outcomes of each game. The goal of the competition was for teams or individuals to make probabilistic predictions of the outcome of every game in the Euro 2020 tournament. Entrants were free to use any data they thought useful, provided it was publicly available, including data scraped from public websites. Predictions were made for all group games and every possible knockout game before the start of the competition. The two of the three winners will present the work they did and we will then kickoff the 2022 predictive competition which will focus on the tennis tournament Wimbledon.
