This talk will review what a finance team did when analysing the annual sales data for a CEO. They produced a 230 PowerPoint slide presentation to answer the question 'why am I not making any profits?', only to conclude 'we don't know.'

Martin will guide the audience to ‘see things differently’ as he shows his alternative approach using systems and statistical thinking to answer the CEO’s question. When the CEO saw the new presentation, he answered his own question after seeing just 8 of 12 slides! Martin will suggest what organisations must do to survive.

He will briefly introduce systems thinking, Ackoff, Deming and Scholtes and suggest what organisations must do to survive.
