Finance and economics SIG seeks new committee members

The Finance and Economics special interest group (SIG) of the Royal Statistical Society aims to promote the use of statistics and statistical methodology in economics and finance. The SIG is looking for new members who are willing to contribute new ideas for SIG activities and actively help to organise events. Read about its event held last year on maths and stats for effective regulation.

They are particularly seeking expressions of interest from practitioners and regulators working in these sectors. As a committee member, you will actively engage with others interested in finance and economics statistics. It holds three committee meetings per year, which can be attended in person at Errol Street, London (travel expenses paid), or remotely by teleconference. Much of its core business is conducted over email.

If you are interested, please contact Jia Shao at financeeconomicssig@rss.org.uk by Sunday 9 May 2021, with a paragraph (up to 200 words) summarising your background, why you want to join, and topics you want to explore through events.

The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
