We are looking for individuals based in East Midlands to join the local group committee and oversee the planning and delivery of a programme of events. We require volunteers who would be willing to be members of the committee or keen to take on additional officer roles, such as chair (currently vacant) and secretary.
The committee organises 3-4 events every year to actively engage the local statistics community and others with interest in statistics. They aim to share statistical expertise with local organisations and industries, promote areas of statistical interest with the Society's Sections and communicate the value of statistics to students.
David Sirl, secretary of the local group, said: 'Being on the committee is a great experience and is also the best way to ensure that the group does things that you think are relevant and important!'
Please note that to join the committee, you will need to be a Fellow of the RSS.
