The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is looking for volunteers to supervise students from its centre in Cameroon. The supervision will take place remotely and during the 'essay phase', which runs from 3 April to 15 May 2020.
Supervising AIMS students is a commitment but also a highly rewarding experience. This academic year, students at AIMS will be offered four courses that are part of the 'data science stream': statistical problem solving, statistical inference, statistical modelling, time-to-event data analysis, financial statistics and statistics for climate science. You can view a full description of these courses.
Supervisors will receive a honorarium of €250 for each supervised student. At the discretion of the AIMS academic director, supervisors with two or three students might also be invited to visit AIMS Cameroon for a period of up to a month.
If you wish to express interest and propose a project, please complete the registration form.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 10 January 2020.
