Talk and poster submissions open for RSS 2019 Conference

Submissions have opened for presentations at the Society’s 2019 International Conference which will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland from 2-5 September next year.

We welcome submissions on any topic related to statistics, data science and the use of data. Not only are we keen to have presentations on novel methodology and advances in analytical techniques, but also on the interesting and impactful stories which can be told via the use of statistics and data science.

The conference programme is organised into topic streams – a full list can be viewed here – and for 2019 we have added an additional contributed talk stream for Data Ethics.

There are three types of presentation for which abstracts can be submitted:

Contributed talks - these talks are allocated 20 minutes each (including time for questions). There are usually 3 talks to a session which lasts one hour and runs in parallel with other contributed sessions.

Rapid-Fire talks - these talks are five minutes in length with a restricted number of slides and no questions or discussion. The talks will be organised into sessions that run in parallel with each other.

Posters (in A0 portrait format) are displayed for the duration of conference in the main breakout area of the conference venue. In 2019 there will be a poster reception on the Tuesday evening plus two viewing sessions on the Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes.

The deadline for submitting abstracts for contributed talks and rapid-fire talks is Friday 5 April 2019.

The final deadline for completing poster submissions is Monday 1 July 2019.

Full details about the submission process can be found on the conference website.
