Royal Institution Masterclass programme taster events

The Royal Institution Masterclass programme opens young people’s eyes to the diversity of mathematics, engineering and computer science. All over the UK, keen young people who have been nominated by their teachers attend a series of workshops to explore areas of these subjects outside their school experience. The programme aims to allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the wonders and applications of these far-reaching subjects and to continue their interest and engagement into later life.

The workshops are led by enthusiastic STEM professionals, educators and academics, and supported by local volunteers. In the next few months there will be several taster events for those who want to find out more, and training days for those with a STEM background who want to develop and deliver an in-depth workshop based on their own favourite topic. More about the Maths Masterclasses are covered in this event report, 'Inspiring young people with statistics'.

RSS fellows are invited to come and join in or pass this on to friends / colleagues who might be interested.
