Mentors, workshop leaders and speakers wanted for Women and Girls event

Volunteers in mentoring women and girls, running a workshop, doing a talk, or networking, are wanted by the organisers of the International Conference on Women and Girls at their first conference on 10-11 February at Microsoft Accelerator, London.

The Conference on Women and Girls in Science is an opportunity to put together women and girls interested in science, technology, engineering and maths.

The conference is run in two days:

  • The first day on Saturday 10 February will be focus on teens and young women, so the idea is to give advice and inspire young women and girls to think about STEM like an option for their future. You could contribute mentoring women and girls, running a workshop in any topic related to STEM, doing a talk or just you can join us and do some networking to meet other like-minded women.
  • The second day on Sunday 11 February will be focus on kids, so the idea is to bring girls between 8-14 years old and inspire them, running experiments/workshops and telling them what we do, what they can do in the future and why it is amazing to learn about science, technology, engineering or maths. Let's demystify that it's hard and boring and give them examples of amazing things that women are doing in STEM.

You could contribute in one of the days or in both. To participate, send an email to Laura da Silva with a short bio, your photo and when and how you would like to be involved.
