Assessors wanted for the CREST Awards

The CREST awards is the British Science Association’s flagship programme for young people, providing science enrichment activities to inspire and engage 5 to 19-year olds. It is the only nationally recognised accreditation scheme for project-based work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

CREST assessors help develop students’ interest and attitudes towards science, along with their scientific and project skills. They do this by assessing students’ projects, providing constructive feedback and encouragement. Often, project assessment is the first-time students’ work is seen by someone other than their parents or teachers. Students value the opportunity to share their work with someone with expertise or a career in the STEM sector.

Assessing projects can be done on a voluntary or paid basis, with up to 5 hours per month of work. All assessment and feedback is carried out via our online platform. We are looking for UK based applicants with a relevant bachelor’s degree or three plus years in a STEM role and an interest in engaging young people in STEM.

Those interested are welcome to register their interest here to receive a full job description and person specification.
