Applied sensometrician and sensory & consumer science professional, working in both research and commercial environments, and on the supplier and client side. I aim to balance the practicalities and risks associated with fast turnaround projects with the need to ensure the right level of robustness. I have a reputation for digging into data and looking at things differently to help identify new insights. My strong applied research background helps challenge and look at new ways of addressing project objectives, while recognising that current approaches may answer the question. I also recognise that experience and technical judgement can have a role to play in making final business decisions supported by data.
I have worked as a statistician, sensory & consumer scientist and project manager for 30 years, including a food & drink research association, sensory led market research agency and a beverage alcohol company. More recently I have set up my own consultancy business focussing on delivering design, analysis, interpretation and reporting. I am comfortable working in both research and industry projects, the latter covering sensory teams, R&D and consumer research applications. I am still active as a sensory & consumer scientist and this can add value to clients in this field.
