Profile

I am an applied statistician with considerable experience of collaborative research work, particularly in ecology, medicine, health services and management. I am also experienced in media work, particularly in broadcast radio and in working with media production teams. I am available for part-time consultancy in these areas, preferably short-term but long-term considered.

Background

Recently retired from professorship at the Open University (in the UK). Also previous employment in local government. Publications include 6 authored or edited books, around 50 research papers, some journalism. Chartered Statistician since 1993. Academic qualifications: PhD and MSc in Statistics (University College London), BA in Mathetmatics (Cambridge), BA in Psychology and MBA (Open University).

Specialisms

Application areas include ecology (particularly plant ecology), health (particularly observational projects), media. Software experience: R, GenStat, SPSS, Minitab.
