We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the ninth round of the Mardia Prize. This prestigious award supports events or workshops with a strong interdisciplinary focus, aiming to foster meaningful collaboration between statisticians and other scientific communities. Funded activities are expected to maintain a sustained focus and encourage genuine interaction across disciplines.
Established by RSS fellow Professor Kanti Mardia, the prize is designed to stimulate innovative interdisciplinary work in emerging fields. Applications are particularly encouraged from early-career researchers, though experienced researchers with broader networks are also welcome to apply.
Workshops funded by the Mardia Prize will take place over a two-year period beginning in 2026, with funding available at £3,000–£4,000 per year. While this typically supports one workshop annually, proposals for more extensive programmes—especially those leveraging additional funding—will also be considered.
For further details, please visit the Mardia Prize webpage. To apply, download and complete the Mardia Prize application form and submit it to honours@rss.org.uk.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 30 November 2025.
