The annual Florence Nightingale Award for Excellence in Healthcare Data Analytics is now accepting entries for 2023.
The award, now in its fourth year, is aimed at practitioners whose work in data analytics has led to significant improvements in patient care. Named after the Society’s first female fellow, the award is supported by the Health Foundation, an independent charitable organisation working to build a healthier UK.
Last year’s winner was the visual analytics team at the East London NHS Foundation Trust for their community and mental health apps providing staff with timely data and analysis.
Stian Westlake, RSS CEO, said: ‘We’ve had some fantastic winners so far for this award across a number of different areas, demonstrating just how wide the reach of quality healthcare data analytics can be. As our health services continue to face multiple challenges, I look forward to seeing further examples of where data has been used to improve public health.'
Josh Keith, Assistant Director of Data Analytics at the Health Foundation, said: ‘Better use of data and analysis is crucial to help understand, and address, the pressures facing the health and social care system. Recognising best practice can help identify lessons - and solutions - that can be spread elsewhere. We look forward to seeing even more great examples of practitioners using data to address challenges in the health care system as part of this year's award.'
The deadline for entries is Monday 1 May and the award will be presented at a ceremony in London in July.
