Council, the Society's trustees, met on 23 November for the last Council meeting of the 2022 session.
The Senior Management Team delivered an update on the Society’s finances and budget for the coming two years, taking into consideration the changes to the Society’s income with the decrease in journal income.
The Council reviewed and approved the Society’s
2023 Activity Plan, 2022 Annual Review and the timeline for the development of the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, which Council expects to be put into operation in the summer of 2023.
The Council agreed to the procedure for the
2025 Presidential Election process and encourage all Fellows to submit their nominations before the new year.
Council reviewed the vacancies across the Society’s governance structure and are pleased to confirm the appointments of
Stephen Kitching as the new Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and
Thomas Kneib as Joint Editor of Series C.
The Council approved the formation of a local group in India and a Finance and Economics SIG, both of whom have plans for exciting activities for members to engage in over the coming twelve months.
At the conclusion of the meeting, past-president, Deborah Ashby, presented a vote of thanks for Sylvia, on behalf of the Society, as this will be the final trustee meeting of Professor Richardson’s presidency.
