During winter 2021 MAC took over the ‘test and trace’ contract providing statistical support in the evaluation of COVID-19 testing services. Throughout the duration of the project, MAC have supported several service evaluations and projects supporting the dissemination of information collected from nationwide testing.

During this talk, Alasdair will look at the challenges of working in a dynamic environment where priorities change rapidly due to government policy requirements and conflicting requirements from different stakeholders. Alasdair will also explore the challenges of analysing both service evaluations and rich retrospective datasets to provide guidance for policy decision makers.

Alasdair Fellows has worked at MAC Clinical trial for 2 years as a senior statistician, leading a number of Phase I & II clinical studies, with a focus in psychedelic and pain. During this time Alasdair has also led the statistics for the Test & Trace study.

Prior to this, Alasdair got his MSc from UCL in Statistics (Medical Statistics focus), from there went on to work at the University of Leeds Clinical Trials unit, working in the surgical interventions & diagnostics division.
