Accessing NHSE data: how to make a successful application
The application process to access NHSE data is often considered difficult and slow due to the legal frameworks around privacy and data protection, governance and security. This presentation aims to provide a brief overview of the process and guidance for how to make a successful application, including discussion of participant-facing materials, and what might prolong the process.
Macey Murray is a Senior Research Fellow in Trial Conduct Methodology at the MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL. She is funded by Health Data Research UK to conduct methodological work that enables routinely collected health data to be more effectively used in clinical trials. Macey was seconded as a Clinical Trials Secondee to NHS DigiTrials (NHS England) for 2 years until Dec 2022.
