Florence Nightingale Award for Excellence in Health and Care Analytics now open

The annual Florence Nightingale Award for Excellence in Health and Care Analytics is now accepting entries for 2026.

The award is aimed at practitioners whose work in data analytics has delivered innovative improvements for the UK health and care system and is named after the Society’s first female fellow.

The 2025 award was won by The Strategy Unit & The New Hospital Programme, who developed the first nationally consistent, open-source model for forecasting future demand on hospital and community services.

RSS Chief Executive Dr Sarah Cumbers said: “Since this award was established in 2020, the entries and winners have demonstrated the breadth of ways in which data analytics can make a meaningful difference across health and social care. We look forward to recognising further examples of innovative practice that use data to enhance patient outcomes and support better decision-making.”

The deadline for entries is Thursday 30 April, and the award will be presented at a ceremony in London on 8 July.
