We have recently received funding from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) Insight Infrastructure to launch a new project exploring gaps in poverty data—and we’re inviting members to help shape this important work.
We’re holding a series of themed roundtable discussions, the first of which will be held on Monday 28 July, 1:00–3:00pm. This meeting will focus on gendered issues and poverty in the UK. Within that area, questions that will be explored include:
- How do you use / have you used poverty data?
- What would you like to be able to do with poverty data, and is that feasible with what is currently available?
- Where are you finding it hard to identify or use the data that you need?
- What barriers or data gaps have you encountered when trying to research questions around poverty and gender?
We’re looking for participants from a range of backgrounds, including:
- Academics working on poverty, inequality, or data gaps
- Charity professionals with policy or data experience
- Individuals with lived experience of poverty who can speak to what’s missing in current data
If you’re interested in attending, please email policy@rss.org.uk with a short description of your background and expertise.
This is a chance to contribute to a meaningful conversation that could influence how poverty is understood and addressed in the UK.
