RSS 2025 Conference poster prize winners announced

At the closing dinner at last week’s Royal Statistical Society International Conference in Edinburgh, President John Aston announced the winners in the best poster presentation competition.

The first prize of £300 of Amazon vouchers, kindly sponsored by the UK Data Service, was won by Tess Vernon, Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland, for her poster, ‘Design and Analysis of a Citizen Science Survey of Badger Distribution in Scotland'.

Second prize of £200 of vouchers from CRC Press went to Isabella Deutsch, Danu Insights, for ‘Likelihood-free inference for better priors in clinical trials’.

Two third place prizes were awarded, each winning £100 of CRC Press vouchers: Charlotte Norridge, University of Birmingham, for ‘Hierarchical Modelling for the Bradley Terry Model with Applications in Violence Against Women and Girls’, and Chen Zhihan,  Ministry of Manpower Singapore, for ‘Revolutionizing Survey Operations Through Speech Analytics and Machine Learning’.

Congratulations to all the winners, and a huge thank you to all the poster presenters for making this an exceptional year full of cutting-edge research and excellent data visualisation.
