UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is on a mission to protect clean sport and currently has an exciting opportunity for an expert in data ethics to join its Innovation Commission.
The purpose of the Innovation Commission is to harness expertise, perspective, and insight from within the UK’s private and public-sector science industries to safeguard the UK’s position at the forefront of international efforts to detect, deter and prevent doping within sport.
Current members of the Innovation Commission include representation from academia (social and bioanalytical sciences), pharmaceutical industry, policy experts, and public research institutes.
Non-UKAD members of the Commission are appointed for a term of three years, with the option of an extension for a second and final three-year term available in the interest of preserving continuity of the Commission’s activity.
Commission members are required to attend meetings 2-3 times a year, either in-person, virtual or a hybrid of the two.

Person specification
All candidates will need to demonstrate in their application that they meet the majority of following essential criteria to a high standard:
- Strong knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, such as UK GDPR, DPA and PECR.
- Experience with developing and implementing ethical frameworks for data collection and analysis.
- Strong understanding of ethical principles related to data such as transparency, accountability, and fairness.
- Prior experience of identifying and addressing ethical considerations in data-driven decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of emerging ethical issues in data, such as algorithmic bias and discrimination.
