We are now accepting entries for our 2022 Award for Statistical Excellence in Trustworthiness, Quality & Value, awarded in partnership with the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) and Civil Service World.
The award recognises excellence in the voluntary application of the ‘pillars’ of Trustworthiness, Quality and Value (TQV) that stand at the heart of OSR’s Code of Practice for Statistics.
Last year’s winner was the Greenhouse Gas Inventory team at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, with highly commended going to the teams behind the NHS Test and Trace weekly statistics publication.
Stian Westlake, RSS Chief Executive, said: ‘We’ve seen some fantastic work so far for this award. No doubt this year’s entries will be further strong examples of teams going above and beyond in voluntarily applying the Code of Practice to ensure their statistics are transparent and robust and most importantly, deliver public value.’
Baroness Onora O’Neill of Bengarve, whose work inspired the award, commented: ‘This award continues to be an exciting opportunity for those pioneering organisations that have voluntarily applied the Code to their statistics to gain additional recognition for their public commitment to high quality and trustworthiness.’
Ed Humpherson, DG for Regulation, UK Statistics Authority, said: ‘I am really excited that the award is in its third year, as so far we have seen some excellent finalists gain well-deserved recognition for their brilliant work. I look forward to receiving entries from a wide range of organisations who are applying the principles of the Code to demonstrate trustworthiness, quality and value for their users.’
