This talk will present a variety of modelling projects from the wealth of data available within the Social Housing sector: exploring the reasons for variability on rent arrears, failure rates in decent homes standards, forecasts of KPIs, and the use of statistical process control methods. The projects will be discussed alongside the challenge of communicating information and insight to varied audiences and the growing use of Microsoft Power BI.
Statistics and Analytics in Social Housing: easy wins and communication challenges
Social Housing is a data rich sector, with detailed operational data, especially around tenants and properties. As well as the provider’s data, the government, via the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) have a host of data available online.
These generate numerous data browsing and modelling opportunities.
Given the data rich environment, this talk will discuss some modelling projects that have been carried out, exploring the reasons for variability in rent arrears, failure rates in decent homes standards, forecasts of KPIs and the use of statistical process control methods. These projects will be discussed alongside the challenge of communicating information and insight to varied audiences and the growing use of Microsoft Power BI.
Attendees are welcome to join us for refreshments from 16:00 in Room I15 in the Hicks Building.
