The RSS Manchester local group will host an online seminar with Will Browne (a member of the RSS AI task force and the Data Science and AI section) who will discuss what it means to evaluate the effectiveness of AI models.

Do we believe that Data scientists and statisticians are no longer needed? How can data exploration, careful study design and statistical methods compete with an army of round-the-clock agents promising to obligingly take ideas to fruition in a matter of hours for a few dollars?
 
Will Browne is a member of the RSS AI task force and the Data Science and AI section. He has spent the last 15 years working to apply statistical techniques, machine learning to decision making and software across healthcare, ecommerce, finance and pharma. He is co-founder of public sector data startup, Emrys Health.
