Prof Roy Ruddle (Leeds University) will take attendees through a guide designed for data scientists to use in their day-to-day work and describe a comprehensive list of tasks to perform when investigating data quality and profiling data, including a six-step recommended workflow.  Each of the tasks is articulated as a question (and sometimes several questions) to answer about your data.  The guide also provides pointers to a Python package (vizdataquality) that implements the workflow, a film about visualizing data quality and other useful resources.

Prof Ruddle is best known for his research into novel interactive visualization techniques, ‘Powerwall’ displays, data science, data quality, virtual reality, navigation and human computer interaction.  He co-founded the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA), and has been an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellow and an Alan Turing Institute fellow.
