Following a period of decline in social survey data quality at ONS, urgent plans are being put in place for immediate recovery.  This session will describe in detail these plans, initially published earlier this year as part of the ONS Economic Statistics Survey Improvement and Enhancement plan for 2025/26. Longer term strategic plans that will further shape the future for ONS social surveys will also be touched on.
 

Ian O’Sullivan has worked in Social Surveys at ONS for over 20 years. He is currently Deputy Director of the new Survey Strategy Research and Innovation (SSRI) division where he is providing leadership for the delivery of a portfolio of innovative survey research to enhance the quality and efficiency of ONS social surveys.
