As the new year begins, so does the search for our next cohort of RSS trustees. We are pleased to announce that the nominations window for Council positions is open.
Here is a message from our President about why it is so important you get involved:
Council consists of 24 elected members, with each serving for four years and acting as representatives of the wider membership. Council members are expected to be:

committed (as Charity trustees) to being responsible for the RSS, providing effective oversight of our strategy, fundraising activities, risk management and the continued delivery of public benefit
All RSS members are eligible to join our Council. We look for diversity in geography and expertise, which allows our trustees to represent the wider membership and deliver its wants and needs. We particularly encourage nominations from:
In September 2026, nominated fellows will stand as candidates in our Council Election, with the successful six beginning four-year trustee terms next January.
Fellows are welcome to nominate themselves or another fellow (with their permission).
