Join the Professional Affairs Committee (PAC) and help shape the future of the statistical profession

The Professional Affairs Committee (PAC) is a key governance committee of the Society, responsible for maintaining professional standards, awarding qualifications, and promoting excellence in the statistical community. We are looking for enthusiastic Chartered Statisticians to join the Committee. There are vacancies for immediate start in 2026 and in 2027. 

What will you do? 

  • Attend online PAC meetings. 

  • Review online assessment applications for professional status (GradStat, CStat and Data Science Professional accreditations). 

  • Contribute to accreditation of university courses and professional training programs. 

  • Support continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation processes. 

  • Help maintain the Society’s Code of Conduct and professional standards. 

  • Engage with employers and external bodies to advance professionalism in statistics.

Time commitment: 

  • Five online meetings per year (2 hours each). 

  • Additional time for application reviews and committee projects (flexible and home-based). 

Eligibility: 

  • Must hold Chartered Statistician and/or Advance Data Science Professional status. 

  • Strong interest in professional standards and development.
