Apply for the FENStatS travel grant for young statisticians to attend the RSS conference

The Federation of National Statistical Societies (FENStatS) is offering travel grants for young statisticians to help members from Eastern or Southern Europe attend international conferences and present their research. This is intended to enable young statisticians to participate in global conferences and showcase their work. 

Applicants must be a member of a National Statistical Society affiliated with FENStatS, like the RSS, and will be assessed based on academic excellence, with preference given to PhD students.  

A strict selection criteria applies, and applications should include information pertaining to: 

• an oral presentation that has been accepted at an international conference 

• their academic excellence (grades, publications, awards) 

• a demonstrated financial commitment (e.g., covering part of travel or accommodation costs). 

To apply, submit the following by 25 March 2026 to administration@fenstats.eu: 

• Motivation letter (max 2 pages) with detailed travel budget. 

• CV (including publications and proof of membership). 

• Proof of grades and awards. 

• Abstract submitted for oral presentation, including conference details.
