The
Avon local group of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) provides an opportunity for statisticians and those with an interest in statistics and data to meet and discuss statistical methods and their applications in areas of local interest, including healthcare, education, and the environment.
We are looking for new members to serve on the committee, particularly those who will take on administrative roles such as chair, secretary and treasurer. These officers will oversee the smooth running of the local group committee. As chair, you will lead the group and chair the committee meetings. The secretary will organise the group’s committee meetings and oversee the delivery of the events programme. As a treasurer, you will manage the finances of the local group.
The local group aims to hold three to four events per year, so along with the rest of the committee, you will get to contribute new ideas for local events and support the planning and delivery of an annual programme of events.
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals based in Bristol, Bath, and the surrounding areas, particularly from female professionals, or those working in industry.

Monday 13 June 2022 with a paragraph (up to 200 words) summarising your background, indicating what role you wish to fill, why you would like to join, and what you will contribute to the committee. Please note that you will need to be a fellow of the RSS to take up a position.
