The Lancashire and East Cumbria local group of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is looking for new members to serve on its committee.
As a committee member, you will get to contribute new ideas for local activities and help plan and deliver a programme of events. You will be joining an engaged and enthusiastic group from a diverse range of professions and sectors.
We usually organise three to four events a year to actively engage the local statistical community and those with an interest in statistical methods and their applications. This year we have helped organise an event on statistics for the natural environment. Our next event will be our first virtual local group meet-up with the RSS President, Professor Deborah Ashby, on Friday 18 September at 6-7pm. If you are interested in attending, please sign up to our mailing list. We will be advertising further event details closer to the time.
To express interest or discuss joining the committee, please contact Hankui Peng by 2 September with a paragraph (up to 250 words) summarising your background, why you would like to join, and what you will contribute to the committee. Please note that you will need to be a fellow of the RSS to take up a position.
The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
