The East Kent local group of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is looking for new members to serve on its committee for 2020.
As a committee member, you will get to contribute new ideas for local activities and help plan and deliver a programme of events. We welcome practitioners as well as academics with other areas of expertise who are passionate about statistics.
The group usually organises three to four events a year to actively engage the local statistical community and anyone with an interest in statistics. We want to share our statistical expertise and passion for the subject with local organisations and successfully communicate the value of statistics. Past events include an open lecture from the past president of the RSS, Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter on ‘Communicating Uncertainty without Losing Trust’.
If you would like to express interest or discuss joining the committee, please contact Maria Kalli at J.Bentham@kent.ac.uk by Friday 21 February 2020 with a paragraph (no more than 150 words) summarising your background and why you would like to join the committee. Please note that to take up a position you will need to be a fellow of the RSS.
The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
