Trustees are the people who lead charities. They use their skills and knowledge to make sure charities achieve their aims and objectives, and meet the needs of the people they serve first.
We are holding a two-part webinar for RSS fellows to learn about becoming a trustee. For this event, we are looking for statisticians with experience serving as charity trustees for a live panel discussion. As a member of the panel, you will share your experience as a trustee and discuss why it is important for statisticians to join charity boards.
To discuss the opportunity or express interest, please contact Amaka Nwagbara by Sunday 6 September with a paragraph (up to 200 words) summarising your background, details of the charity and how you have used your statistical expertise to support them. Please note that to participate in the panel discussion, you must be a fellow of the RSS.
We would particularly welcome applications from early career and senior/retired statisticians. Volunteers should be available for a rehearsal on Monday 5 October at 10.30am and for the main event on Thursday 8 October 2020 at 11am – 12.30pm.
For more information or to book your place on this trustee event – see session one and session two. If you are interested in becoming a trustee, visit volunteer as a trustee for new volunteering opportunities.
The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
