Wellcome Trust funding call for longitudinal population studies

Applications for The Wellcome Trust's longitudinal population study grants are now open to people working across biobanks, cohorts, or panel surveys.

Longitudinal Population Study Grants provide support for researchers who want to establish, maintain or enhance longitudinal population studies (LPS) for the benefit of the wider scientific community.

In addition to providing funds for creating or maintaining longitudinal population studies, the Trust is particularly interested in proposals that enhance the value of these studies for the benefit of the wider research community.

Grants of up to £1.5 million are available for teams working to develop methods and innovations of relevance to longitudinal population studies. Candidates should have a strong research track-record, although you do not need to be leading a group. Proposed LPS's should usually be based in the UK or a low- or middle-income country.

Proposals could include (but are not limited to):

  • Ways to improve analysis of complex data from longitudinal population studies
  • Research that explores how multiple datasets or different types of data can be linked efficiently
  • Establishing regulatory, organisational, or governance structures that support longitudinal population studies.

More info on what we offer and advice on applying is at wellcome.ac.uk/funding/longitudinal-population-study-grants. The preliminary application deadline is 7 November.
