African Institute for Mathematical Sciences seeks volunteer supervisors

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is calling for volunteers who would like to supervise students from AIMS Cameroon remotely. The supervision will take place during the 'Essay phase', which runs from 8 April to 17 May, (although the dates may be shifted 2/3 weeks ahead due to bureaucratic reasons).

Supervising AIMS students is a commitment but also a highly rewarding experience. Supervisors receive a honorarium of €250 for each supervised student. At discretion of the AIMS academic director, supervisors with two or three students might also be invited to visit AIMS Cameroon for a period of up to a month.

This academic year, students at AIMS will be offered four courses that are part of the 'Data science stream': statistical problem solving, statistical inference, statistical modelling and geospatial methods for public health. A description of these courses is available at lancaster.ac.uk/staff/giorgi/AIMS_syllabus.pdf

The form - available here - allows to submit a single project proposal. If you want to submit more than one proposal, you will need to refill the form for each proposal.
