We are delighted to announce that Hani Doss, professor of statistics at the University of Florida, will take up the role of joint editor for our Series B Journal in January 2024. He will join Qiwei Yao and Daniela Witten for a term of three years, succeeding Steffen Lauritzen, who will complete his term at the end of December 2023.
Hani obtained a doctoral degree in statistics at Stanford University, working under the direction of Persi Diaconis. His research interests focus on Markov chain Monte Carlo; Bayesian methods, including non/semi-parametric Bayesian methods, and Bayesian methods in biostatistics and in machine learning; and survival analysis.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and has been associate editor for the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Statistica Sinica (for six terms, in three of which he was a member of the screening committee), and Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B (four terms).
He has had extensive involvement in biostatistics, including as a member of a four-person committee which founded the Center for Biostatistics at Ohio State University and as the director of the biostatistics core of the Institute for Aging at the University of Florida.
