Applications are now open for the Royal Statistical Society William Guy Lectureships 2023-24.
The RSS William Guy Lecturers are prestigious volunteer roles intended to celebrate the importance of engaging with schools and inspiring children about statistics from an early age. They are named in honour of William Augustus Guy, an early medical statistician and past RSS president.
We aim to appoint three lecturers, who will primarily deliver talks online to enable us to reach as many schoolchildren as possible.
Each lecturer will prepare a talk of around 25 minutes targeted towards a key stage of their choosing that they can deliver to a broad range of schools.
This year’s theme is Climate change and environmental statistics.
We invite applications from fellows with passion and enthusiasm for inspiring school students about the role of statistics in environmental issues. We welcome applications from a range of career stages, locations across the UK, and sectors.
The deadline for applications is Monday 8 May.
